Azerbaijan, Baku, 30 April / Trend corr. S.Ilhamgizi / The National Assembly of Georgian Assembly (NAGA) will not participate in the parliamentary elections in Georgia and will not support any party or election bloc.

"There is no sense to participate in the parliamentary elections," Dashgin Gulmammadov, President of NAGA, stated to Trend .

Gulmammadov stated that the local bodies will fabricate the results of elections through the support of administrative resources in the thickly populated Azerbaijanis territories of Georgia.

"Many officials in the Azerbaijani populated regions intend to gain trust of the Georgian administration. I was informed that the Georgian Government will hold check in the Kvemo-Kartli and Kakhetia after the elections. As the Government has received many claims from the population about disorders and corruption in the Azerbaijani populated regions," Gulmamadov stated.

Gulmammadov added that NAGA would neither support any opposition party nor Mikhail Saakashvili's party. Gulmammadov believes that opposition is not interested in the problems of Azerbaijanis and Saakashvili's party will falsify the results of elections if Azerbaijanis will not participate in the elections.

"I refuse from participating in the elections, which will change nothing. I feel regret that Azerbaijanis can not join the efforts and participate in the elections," Gulmammadov stated.
