Azerbaijan, Baku, 1 May / Trend corr S. Ilhamgizi/ New administration and control commission of World Azerbaijanis Congress's (WAC) Azerbaijani Office was established during the conference which took place in Baku on 30 April. Ismayil Agayev was again nominated for the chairman position in the WAC Azerbaijani Office. The conference which involves 134 people recommended appointing Agayev the head of the Office. He will be appointed to the position at the WAC congress to take place in Koln, Germany on 24-25 May.
About 100 representatives from Azerbaijan were elected at the conference to participate in the 10th WAC congress.
WAC was established in USA in 1997. The organization mainly operates for the independence of South Azerbaijan (Iranian province), as well as to protect the national interests of Azerbaijanis in the world.
WAC administration decided to discharge Gholamreza Sabri Tabrizi from the chairman position and elected Sabir Rustamkhanli in his place prior to the next congress. Tabrizi believes that the decision made was illegal and has stated that he is still chairman of WAC.
Tabrizi and his supporters are going to hold the 10th WAC congress in Brussels on 24-26 June.
