Azerbaijan, Baku, 12 May / corr Trend S.Agayeva / Russia remains interested in consolidation of cooperation with Azerbaijan, while the parliamentary and presidential elections in 2007 and 2008 ensured succession in the foreign policy in Russia, Boris Grizlov, the chairman of the State Duma [Russian Parliament] stated.
"With respect to the changes in political developments, no faults are expected. The development of relations will be successive and as predicted, talking into consideration the interests of both Russia and Azerbaijan," Grizlov said in an interview for RIA Novosti in the run up to his visit to Azerbaijan.
The current high level political interaction between Russia and Azerbaijan, growing potential of national economies, prospects of humanitarian cooperation represent favorable grounds for further development, he said.
