Azerbaijan, Baku, 21 May / Trend corr D. Khatinoglu/ The statements by the Iranian officials that USA, UK and Israel supported the people who were arrested due to the terrorism acts recently committed in the country are dubious. "Official Teheran accuses Israel, UK and USA of the terrorism acts committed in Iran in response to West's accusations," Моhsеn Sаzеgаrа, Chairman of the Washington-based Iranian Research Centre, said to Trend .

According to IRNA, Iran's security organization Ettelaat reported on 20 May that the terrorism network connected with America and operating in Iran had been detained. And the Spokesperson for Justice Ministry reported about arrest of 12 terrorists connected with USA, UK and Israel, who tries to commit a provocation in the country.

"Iranian officials reported that the explosion which occurred in Shiraz two months ago was not a terrorism act. So much time has passed and now connecting of the explosion with provocative forces proves dubiousness of Iran's statements," Sazegara said in a telephone conversation from Washington on 21 May. According to him, double statements of Iranian officials regard not only Shiraz explosion but also arrested terrorists. Iranian officials first say the arrested 12 terrorists are the supporters of former Shah regime and then say that they have some relations with UK, USA and Israel. But there is no single well-grounded fact or proof for that," American expert of Iranian origin Sazegara said.

According to expert, arrested terrorists are expected to confess on air in near future. "Official Teheran in different time broadcasted confessions of several terrorists about their relations with the West, but later just the opposite was proved," Sazegara said.

As a result of the explosion which occurred in the Shiraz mosque on 11 April, 12 people died and 200 sustained serious injuries. Twelve people were arrested in this connection. They are accused of terrorism. According to Iranian officials, the terrorism acts which the network was planning to commit in the Russian Consulate, several cultural centres and mass places were prevented.
