Azerbaijan, Baku, 10 June / Trend corr E. Huseynli/ Drugs were found on expats in Baku. "Sabail District Police revealed and seized 0.328gmof heroine from Merab Davashvili and 0.311gm from Akakiya Mtskazarashvili, both Georgian citizens," Azerbaijani Interior Ministry reported to Trend on 9 June.
Azerbaijan State Commission against Drug Addictions and Drugs Trafficking reported that in the first quarter of this year over 83kg drugs were seized from 83 expats (11 - Georgia, 7 - Russia, 5 - Iran and 1 - Ukraine). In April, number of cases related to drugs trafficking amongst expats grew and 39 expatriates were detained.
In the first quarter of 2008, law-enforcement bodies and State Border Service of Azerbaijan revealed 552kg of drugs in the country.
