New Founded Azerbaijani Political Party Has Financial Problems

Azerbaijan, Baku, 20 June /corr. Trend E.Babayev / Works are being carried out to establish a new political party in Azerbaijan by the beginning of the presidential elections. "We have already established Organizational Committee comprising 11 people and currently hold discussions to declare its composition by the beginning of the elections," Aydin Guliyev, the member of the Organizational Committee, told Trend on 19 June.

The Democratic Party of Azerbaijan was founded by Jalaloglu in 1991. The party took a radical position against the Government until 2007. In January 2007, the party took a new political course and improved relations with the authorities. Protesting against such an action Rasul Guliyev, the ex-chairman, and his supporters left the party and founded the Open Society party

The Open Society Party was founded in April 2007. Guliyev left the party due to occurred problems within the party.

Guliyev did not say who will be represented in the Organizational Committee. "There are people, who are involved into policy and there are representatives of science, who are far from the policy," Guliyev said. The new party has not been tackled its financial issues yet. "I hope that the financial problems will be solved as soon as the party to begin functioning," Guliyev said.
