Governments of Azerbaijan and Latvia to Sign Protocol on Development of Commercial and Economic Relations

Azerbaijan, Baku, 15 July /corr. Trend E.Aliyev / The Governments of Azerbaijan and Latvia will sign Protocol on development of bilateral commercial and economic relations. The document will be signed as a result of the second session of Inter-Governmental Commission for Commercial-Economic and Scientific-Technical Co-operation, which began on 15 July in Riga, the Third Secretary of Latvia's Embassy in Azerbaijan, Marcis Maksims, told Trend .

The Inter-Governmental Commission is led by the Minister of Economic Development of Azerbaijan, Heydar Babayev and Minister of Economy of Latvia, Kaspars Gerhards.

The meeting will focus on the issues concerning co-operation in the commercial and economic, cultural and scientific and technical spheres. Energy co-operation is one of the important themes, which are discussed during the meeting, Secretary said. Latvia is interested in the energy co-operation with Azerbaijan, and the Governments of both countries assigned experts to study the possibilities of this co-operation.

Within his visit, Minister of Economic Development of Azerbaijan plans to meet with the Minister of Transport and Communications of Latvia, Ainars Slesers, and discuss a number of questions on bilateral co-operation with him.
