Azerbaijan, Baku, 21 July / Trend corr. E.Babayev/ The main election slogan of the governing New Azerbaijan Party (NAP) has been determined. "The main slogan and task of Azerbaijani authorities during upcoming presidential elections and during next five years will be to provide worthy life to every citizen of the strong, mighty and rich Azerbaijan," Deputy Chairman and Executive Secretary of NAP Ali Ahmadov said on 21 July.
Presidential elections will take place in Azerbaijan on 15 October. NAP will convene a conference at the beginning of August for this purpose. Current head of state, Chairman of NAP Ilham Aliyev will be nominated at the conference.
According to Ahmadov, the main wish of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev is to build a mighty state of Azerbaijan on the basis of economic development, to provide worthy life to every citizen. "That will not be news if I say that today Ilham Aliyev has no rival able to oppose him. Everybody in Azerbaijan clearly understands that. A special point in the contemporary history of Azerbaijan is pursuing the policy backed by the entire nation. The high indices which Ilham Aliyev achieved prove his successful activities. That is his advantage. And the number of people who can expect such support is too small amongst the opposition. That does not mean there will be no other candidate. There will be a plenty of them. However, that will not create any difficulties for NAP's election campaign," said Ahmadov.
The NAP was founded in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic of Azerbaijan (NAR) in 1992 by Heydar Aliyev, who then was the chair of the Nakhchivan Parliament. Present chairman of the party, which has been governing for 15 years, is Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.
