Azerbaijan, Baku, 31 July/ Trend , corr K. Zarbaliyeva/ A total of 13 employees of the prosecution bodies of Azerbaijan have been punished in the fist half of 2008, it was mentioned during the meeting on the results of first half of 2008 in the Prosecutor General's Office.
It was mentioned that these 13 employees were punished for violations of law. One employee of the prosecutor bodies has been dismissed.
During this period, there was a drop in the number of crimes related to willful murder, an attempt to murder, deliberately harming health, rape, blackmail, violation of traffic rules and also in the number of fatal car accidents.
Some 90.4% of the crimes were solved.
As a result of the measures taken in cooperation with the bodies of the Interior Ministry, a total of 3 crimes were solved which were committed long ago in Sumgayit, Narimanov district of Baku and Tovuz region of Azerbaijan.
As compared to the same period of 2007, during this period there was an increase of 25% in grave crimes, 9.9% - in less grave crimes, 2.1% - in kidnapping, 41% - in burglary, plunder - 66%, gangsterism - 50%, juvenile crimes - 30.3% and 76.8% - in human trafficking.
During this period, there was one unsolved willful murder case in Ganja and Shirvan cities, Nasimi district of Baku, Absheron, Yardimli, Lankaran and Gabala regions each.
