France, Strasburg, 01 October / Trend , corr. A.Maherremly / The Secretary General of the Council of Europe, Terry Davis, is concerned by the delay of the investigation with regards to those who died during the events in March of this year after the presidential elections in Armenia.

їI am very concerned by the delay of investigation with regards to people who died during the March events,ї Davis said to press conference within PACE session on 1 October, answering the question їis there political prisoner in Armenia?ї.

He said that he never referred to political prisoner etiquette. їIndeed, there are prisoners in Armenia and yet the have not been brought to court and they expect it to take place soon,ї Davis said.

In addition, the Secretary General is concerned by the delay of investigation regarding 13 people who died during the March events. їI said and repeat it again. I have called the Government of Armenia to move. Police also should hold this investigation. Presence of independent commissions does not exempt police from its work. For some reasons, Armenia hides behind the independent commissions established with regards to March events. Police should do its work connected with these events,ї Davis added.
