Civil Society Development Assistance Association in Azerbaijan Holds Trainings for Observers in Presidential Elections

Azerbaijan, Baku, 7 October / Trend corr. J.Babayeva /The Civil Society Development Assistance Association holds trainings for observers in the upcoming presidential elections.

Trainings, which will be continued until 12 October, will cover Baku, Absheron and Sumgait. The papers with 'Monitoring over presidential elections in 2008' note and worked out by the Association will be distributed amongst observers.

The presidential elections in Azerbaijan will be held on 15 October. Seven candidates will take part in the elections, including Ilham Aliyev, chairman of ruling New Azerbaijan Party; Igbal Agazade, chairman of opposition Umid (Hope) Party; Fazil Gazanfaroglu, chairman of Great Establishment Party; Gudrat Hasanguliyev, chairman of Unified Popular Front Party; Hafiz Hajiyev, chairman of Muasir Musavat Party; Fuad Aliyev, chairman of Liberal Democrat Party and independent candidate Gulamhuseyn Alibayli.

Association has completed trainings for observers in 12 regional centres. The organization is registered in the Central Election Commission (CEC) to carry out exit-poll in the presidential elections. Association will hold exit poll together with ELS in 800 election centres.
