Azerbaijan, Baku, 5 November / Trend corr. A.Huseynbala / Some members of the pro-government Party of Democratic World of Azerbaijan (PDWA) publicized reasons of their resignation from the party.

"Although the party was established in 1992, its organization took place in 2008. A lot of people joined the PDWA, because chairman Mammad Alizade speculated with the names of top officials of the country," Memish Jafarov, former deputy chairman of the PDWA, said at a news conference held in the Trend Company's conference hall on 5 November.

Pro-government Party of Democratic World of Azerbaijan has been founded in 1992 and registered by the Ministry of Justice in 1993. The chairman of the party is Mammad Alizade. The party supports political line of ruling New Azerbaijan Party.

The opposition Great Nation Party, which was established in 1999, joined the PDWA on 23 September in 2008.

The PDWA is a member of the Consultation Assembly, which was formed by pro-government parties in 1998. The organization includes the ruling New Azerbaijan Party, the Party of Democratic World of Azerbaijan, the Democratic Enlightenment Party, the Free Republicans Party, the Republican Party, the Ana Vatan (Motherland) Party, the Social Welfare Party, the National Statehood Party and the Alliance Party for Azerbaijan. At present the New Azerbaijan Party is chairing the Consultation Assembly in accordance with its regulation.

According to Jafarov, election of chairmen to the PDWA regional organizations and members did not meet the Regulation of the party.

"Chairmen of the party's local organizations should be elected during conferences. However, Alizade appointed chairmen of regional organizations at his private order, which contradicted the Regulation. Admittance of members to the party did not take place at local organizations, but Alizade's study. The chairman exceeded his office duties and admitted to the party people who are unaware of the PDWA Regulation and granted them certificates," the former deputy chairman stressed.

People, who do not hold Azerbaijani citizenship, were admitted to the party as a result of Alizade's arbitrariness.

"Sevda Galandarova is a Georgian citizen. However, Alizade appointed her executive secretary, violating the Regulation," Jafarov said.

"A total of 115 people were elected to the Political Council at a congress of the party on 18 August. However, they number was increased to 136 people at Alizade's own will. Number of people, who were elected to the Executive Body at the congress, was increased from 17 to 18 at the PDWA at the chairman's private initiative," Akif Hasanov, the former deputy of the PDWA for organizational affairs, said.

The deputies were dismissed from the party, because they could not carry out obligations concerning the elections, the PDWA chairman told Trend on 5 November.

"Their accusations are nonsense. We decided to dismiss them because they were engaged in destructive activities in the party," Alizade said.
