Azerbaijan, Baku, 5 November/ Trend , corr K. Zarbaliyeva/ Web cameras are being installed in Azerbaijan's capital city to help solve crimes in time.
"Web cameras are being installed in the streets and crowded places which will be under constant control. The information about crimes committed there will be recorded to discs and this information will be used while investigating the crime," Madat Guliyev, chief of Central Security Department of the Interior Ministry said to journalists. Guliyev did not divulge number of the cameras.
Central Security Department of the Interior Ministry provides security of about 10,000 facilities. The Department has been providing security of apartments and facilities since 1997. Web cams have already been installed in central avenues and streets to prevent car accidents.
He said the web cams are installed within the frames of Safe City project realized by the Interior Ministry.
Noting that Central Security Department provides security of apartments and facilities, Guliyev said new equipment and security systems are introduced while providing security.
"The citizens appeal us to provide security of estates and facilities. Rise in people's life standards has caused an increase in appeals," Guliyev said.
