Obama’s Victory not to Affect Next Presidential Elections in   Iran: Former Vice President

Azerbaijan, Baku, 07 November /corr. Trend D.Khatinoglu / The former Vice President of Iran said that the results of the presidential elections in the USA will not influence on the domestic policy of the Islamic Republic, especially the next presidential elections, which will take place in this country. The next presidential elections in Iran will be held on 12 June 2009.The former Vice President of Iran, Muhammad Ali Abtahi, who held this post with the President of Iran, Muhammed Hatemi, told Trend that Barack Obama's election as the President and the changes in the international community will not affect the domestic policy of the Islamic Republic. Iran has its policy. Barak Obama, a democrat presidential candidate from Illinois State, USA, took a victory at the 4 November presidential elections in the United States.

Abtahi said by telephone from Teheran on 7 November that Obama's victory in the elections shows that this time the presidential elections in America took place in completely different situation and led to other results. Obama's election as the President can influence foreign policy, economic and foreign relations of the USA, but it will not affect the domestic policy of Iran, Abtahi said.
