National Minorities Conception Developed in Georgia

Georgia, Tbilisi, 8 November / corr Trend N.Kirtzkhalia / Giorgi Arsenishvili, chairman of parliamentary committee on defense of human rights, and Tamar Kintsurashvili, adviser to President of Georgia for issues of integration, discussed a conception concerning national minorities.

Kintsurashvili informed MP of the content of the conception and focused on necessity of involving legislative body to process of preparation of this document. Arsenishvili expressed willingness to get familiar with the conception and sides reached an agreement on future cooperation.

Positions between legislative and executive bodies concerning the issue of national minorities should be under discussions regularly, MP stressed.

In December, the members of Committee on Convention of National Minorities of the Council of Europe, who realize monitoring, will arrive in Georgia, as far as the state fulfills the obligations taken in this sphere, Kintsurashvili said.

Measures, dedicated to International day of Tolerance, which is celebrated on 16 November, were also discussed. In this connection, the Georgian parliament intends to receive members of
of national minorities, Arsenishvili said.
