NATO Members Interested in Georgian Defense Sphere

Georgia, Tbilisi, 11 November / corr Trend N.Kirtzkhalia / The members of NATO department of regional security and cooperation take interest in a situation in Georgian defense sphere. The delegation is in Georgia with a three-day visit, the Defense Ministry said.

On 11 November they held a meeting in the Defense Ministry and a united headquarters. Giorgi Muchaidze deputy defense minister, Brigade Gen. David Nairashvili, deputy head of the united headquarters, Maj. Lela Chikovani, a head of department of strategic planning and military policy, received the official guests.

Gen. Paul Adam, deputy head of department of regional security and cooperation of alliance, headed NATO delegation.

The sides discussed current reforms and existing problems in Georgian armed forces at the sitting.  Future plans of cooperation in an educational sphere were also under discussions. Georgian side familiarized guests with the August events.

The same day Gen. Paul Adam is to visit NATO information center. The delegation will visit a national defense academy and Krtsaniss education center tomorrow.
