Stability in Ukraine to come after parliamentary and presidential elections: leader of Ukrainian opposition

Ukraine, Kiev, Dec. 23 / Trend , Z.Novosvitskiy / The stability in Ukraine will come after parliamentary and presidential elections, Viktor Yanukovich, the leader of the Ukrainian opposition Party of Regions, said. This Yanukovich said at the meeting with ambassadors of G7 in Ukraine.

Non-professionalism and populism of the authorities became one of the main reasons for the present political and economic crisis in Ukraine.  These authorities must leave the office. Stability in Ukraine will begin after parliamentary and presidential elections. In such a state the authorities are incapable to work," Yanukovich said.

At the meeting an internal political situation in Ukraine, the way of overcoming the consequences of world financial crisis and some international issues were discussed.
Diplomats expressed apprehension relative to reliability of gas transit through Ukraine due to outstanding issues with Russia.

"We will do everything so that the stably gas supply would be provided to Europe, regardless of the fact, who will be in the office in Ukraine," Yanukovich said. According to him, the issue guarantying gas supply to Ukraine remains open, since there is a debt before the suppliers for that consumed fuel with the cost of $2.5bln.
