Megafon Russian mobile communication company operating in Georgia without a license is another component of Moscow's annexation policy towards Georgia, the Georgian Foreign Ministry said.
Megafon Russian mobile operator registered in the Russian Federation conducts illegal entrepreneur activity on occupied Georgian territories, the same source said.
General Prosecutor's Office of Georgia applied to General Prosecutor's Office of the Russian Federation with a petition. Based on the international documents, including European Convention on mutual assistance in criminal cases, the Georgian side asked to render legal aid regarding above-mentioned illegal activity of Megafon.
"Upon a reply letter of General Prosecutor's Office of the Russian Federation dated Dec. 31, 2008, the Russian authorities denied the petition on legal aid, the Foreign Ministry said.
This fact is another component of Moscow's annexation policy towards Georgian territories, the Georgian Foreign Ministry said.
