Georgian delegation heads to Geneva

This morning, a Georgian delegation headed to Switzerland to participate in the third round of the Geneva negotiations. The occupied territories will be discussed, Georgian Parliamentary External Relations Committee head Akaki Minashvili said before their departure.

"We hope to achieve concrete resolutions for the Georgian population in the occupied territories. Their rights are not ensured. They are pressured by separatists and occupants," he said.

Delegations from Abkhazia and South Ossetia are expected to take part in the negotiations. The talks will involve OSCE, EU and UN representatives.

Deputy Foreign Minister Giga Bokeriya will head the Georgian delegation. The delegation includes South Ossetia Temporary Administration head Dmitry Sanakoev, Abkhaz Autonomous Republic governmental representative Malkhaz Akishbaya, Georgian Interior Ministry Analytical Department Director Shota Utaishvili and Lorik Marshaniya and Levan Geradze.

The third round of the Geneva negotiations will take place on Feb. 17-18.
