The Turkish Pala Reis Ship and crew were detained at the Poti Port.

A court charged the crew with illegal fishing and narcotics trafficking.

On Feb. 12, the Georgian Coast Guard detained the Turkish fishing ship.

The Georgian authorities accused the fishermen of trafficking narcotics.

A consignment of marijuana and 50 tons of illegally caught khamsa were found on the boat.

The owner of the ship denies the involvement of his crew in narcotics trafficking.

"We have no relationship to these charges. The vessel was engaged in fishing in Turkey's territorial waters," Alacoglu Director Balikcilik Yasak Alachoglu said.

He asked the Turkish authorities to clarify the issue.

There were 25 people on the boat.
