Over 180 Iranian members of parliament issued a statement on March 4 asking Saudi Arabia to ensure the security of pilgrims visiting the House of Allah in Saudi Arabia, the IRNA news agency reported.

The parliament read the statement at A meeting on March 4.

The members of parliament requested the Iranian Supreme Spiritual Leader's Hajj representative to discuss the issue with Saudi Arabian officials.

The statement said Kaaba is the center of the Islamic world. All Muslims should be able to visit the House of Allah irrespective of faith, they said.

The members of parliament also asked Saudi Arabia not to provoke Wahhabists and to ensure the security of Iranian pilgrims traveling to Mekka and Medina.

Iranian pigrims worry about their security. They are often insulted in Saudi Arabia as they are Shias.
