The Azerbaijani Interior Ministry's Central Department for Combating Organized Crime detained a transnational organized crime group trafficking drugs.
The police detained Nigerian citizens Ojuyederie James Okeneruim, 32, Okvara Fillip Namdi, 35, Oqbonna Sabastine Okechukvyun, 25, Peter Unojite, 37, Davies Ulovasegun Isola, 27, and Nduka Valentin, 27, who lived in a rented apartment in Baku, the ministry's press service told Trend .
About 20 kilogram and 675 grams of drugs were seized.
The Central Department for Combating Organized Crime filed a lawsuit in the case.
An investigation is underway.
The Azizbayov District Police Deparment detained 14 members of the same group last week. A total of 31 kilograms of marijuana and two kilograms of heroin were seized.
