Georgian parliamentary majority offers dialogue to opposition on concrete issues

Today, members of Georgian parliamentary majority declared special statement at a briefing. The statement says that Georgia stands before a great challenge, global financial crisis causes economic difficulties in the country, "aggressive empire" shuttles the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the country, citizens feel difficulties and face unemployment and businessmen try to safe their business from bankruptcy.    

Georgian deputy majority says the community demands the abovementioned challenges are removed. "The recent events showed the difficulties that our country may face. Professionalism of law enforcement agencies prevented the country from civil confrontation. Today, still there is a threat of civil confrontation in the country," the statement said.

The parliamentary majority urges all parties and politicians to see the interests of the state and population above their own and proposes opponents to cooperate in favor of the Georgian community.

Leader of the parliamentary majority Petr Tsikarishvili from the name of the ruling party said that his party was ready to launch dialogue with opposition.

Tsikarishvili concretized the dialogue to overcome the economic crisis, defense of the country and political reforms.

"We don't hope to agree on all issues. But, we believe that we can justify the population's confidence only through dialogue and cooperation," Tsikarishvili said.
