All closed schools in Afghanistan will open by late 2009, Afghani Education Minister Farruh Vardak said.
A total of 650 schools were closed in Afghanistan due violation of security and stability in the country, but 170 of them were opened in 2008, Vardak said at a news conference in Kabul, Afghan Voice Agency reported.
The minister said all the remained closed schools will open in 2009.
At present there are 11.5 million of children under a school age in Afghanistan, but only 5.5 million of them receive education. Economic problems, Talibs' attack to schools and absence of security cause this fact, Vardak said at a news conference.
