Ongoing events do not have common with democracy: Georgian ex-speaker

The ongoing events in the country have no relation to democracy, Prime-TASS quoted ex-Speaker of Parliament, leader of the democratic movement United Georgia Nino Burjanadze as saying.

According to her, despite the fact that the government spoke of the need to dialogue with the opposition, it has a forceful pressure on protesters, which has a lot of evidence.

"The President and members of his team punish participants of the action at night," she said.

Burjanadze noted that the dialogue is important, but more importantly is President Saakashvili's resignation.
