Kazakh branch opened in Polish university

The Kazakh department opened in the institute of oriental studies and study of Turkic language named after Adam Mitskevich in Polish town Poznan, press-secretary of the Kazakh Foreign Ministry Ilays Omarov said.
Opening of the Kazakh department in one of the biggest Polish institutions testifies growth of interest of Polish scientific-teachers' and students' community towards our country, culture, traditions, language and history, I. Omarov said.
Presently, roughly 40 Polish students study at the Kazakh language at five courses of the University, he said.
Head of the department is teacher of the Kazakh language Guleyhan Aktayeva working in Poznan university over 5 years," Omarov said.
Polish-Kazakh dictionary was first compiled by the institute of oriental studies and study of Turkic language. The dictionary is planned to be published in the nearest future, he said.
Pro-rector and deans of Poznan university, Kazakh and Polish diplomats, numerous friends of Kazakhstan from scientific-teachers' community of Poland, representatives of Polish Turkic communities - Tatar and Karaite unites participated in the ceremony, the Foreign Ministry said.
