The strategic partnership between Azerbaijan and Romania will be discussed in Bucharest in autumn.
"I hope that Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev will make an official visit to Romania this autumn. And it would be a good opportunity to formally strengthen the strategic cooperation between the countries," State Secretary for Strategic Affairs in the Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Bogdan Aurescu told journalists said in Baku.
The Romanian-Azerbaijani relations are at a high level, Aurescu said. "We are very close to our strategic partnership. In this regard, the number of summits is very important. The presidents of Romania and Azerbaijan have very good relations" he said.
According to the State Statistics Committee of Azerbaijan, the volume of trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Romania was about $193 million in 2008, while Azerbaijan's export hits $161 million and import - $31.8 million.
