Georgia makes accent on intensifying the EU observer mission in conflict zones in Georgia, Georgian State Minister for Reintegration Temur Yakobashvili told journalists.

Russia puts veto on extension of UN mission in Abkhazia and mission which had been in Georgia over 16 years stopped its functioning.

"We regret that UN mission has stopped its functioning, because it did a lot of good in the country," the state minister said.

"The Georgian diplomacy has succeeded to avoid erosion of its territorial integrity through help of our friends," Yakobashvili said.

The EU observers have a right to intervene the conflict zones in Georgia and "it will happen shortly".
