Number of crimes committed with gun reduced 7 times in Azerbaijan within the last 15 years, interior minister Ramil Usubov said in an interview with official media outlets.
Minister said that roughly 30,000 illegally kept guns were revealed within this period. Over 22,000 of criminal groups were neutralized as a result of operative-search work within 15 years.
Number of gangsters, robbers, wilful homicide, grave crimes reduced 3 times all over Azerbaijan.
Over 70,000 condemned criminals were detained within this period. Over 3 tons of drug were withdrawn from illegal turnover.
Usubov said that number of grave crimes reduces within last years. Individual law violations do not exceed the bouds of forecasts.
"Azerbaijan is one of the safiest countries within long years. Security is preserved at the highest level in Azerbaijan and takes leading positions among CIS countires, as well as Eastern Europe on enforcement of law and results of combat with criminality, including reduction of number of crimes per each 100,000 people," minister said.
