During a telephone conversation, the President of Turkey Abdullah Gul invited the President of Turkmenistan Gurbangulu Berdimuhamedov to make an official visit to Turkey at any convenient time.
This invitation was accepted with gratitude. The dates of the visit will be agreed through diplomatic channels.
The leaders of the two states exchanged views on prospects for further partnerships, expressed the desire to build fruitful inter-governmental dialogue.
Experts believe that the meeting between Berdymuhamedov and Gul will enable to speed up Nabucco gas pipeline project, due to which Ankara intends to strengthen its position in the European energy market.
