Batumi is an only place in Europe where the construction did not only stop due to global financial crisis but even it became more active, Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili stated at a governmental meeting in Batumi.
The president said pace of construction almost doubled. We do not charter Batumi. The construction did not only stop, but even accelerated. We are here in Batumi now in this connection and we want it to become rule of development throughout Georgia, the President said.
There are problems in the construction field and a new governmental financial package is directed at their solution, the president added.
The governmental meeting was held on a construction site of Batumi hotel.
