Speaker of the Council of Federation Sergey Mironov thinks that the USA will refuse from intention to place anti-missile defense systems in Poland and Czechia, RIA Novosti said.

Previous U.S administration planned to place anti-missile defense systems in Eastern Europe - radar in Czechia and 10 rockets-interceptors in Poland under pretence of protection of Europe from Iran's and Korean rockets. Russia took these plans as threat for its own security. New U.S president Barack Obama suspended but did not cancel plans concerning anti-missile defense systems in Eastern Europe. His administration decided to re-estimate these plans.

He thinks that finally these dangerous actions will not be made. There will not be any radar or rockets as it is very dangerous, Mironov said in Azerbaijan interview with Echo of Moscow radio station.

Mironov stressed that issue concerning a new agreement on reduction of strategic offensive armaments must be coordinated with placing of anti-missile defense systems in Europe during upcoming talks of Russian and U.S presidents.

"It is necessary to coordinate not only offensive but defensive forces, especially anti-missile defense systems to achieve any coordination and understanding. If anti-missile defense systems are accelerated, it will destabilize situation," speaker said.

Speaking about possible creation of anti-missile defense systems together with the USA, Mironov said that Americans must give sincere answer against whom this system to be directed.

"It is clear that radar in Czechia and rockets in Poland do not solve issues that can be solved owing to radar in Gabala radar station and Armavir. The USA tell lie regarding against whom they are friends, speaker said commenting position of the USA in accordance of which anti-missile defense systems in Eastern Europe must be created as protection from Iran's threat.

"If talks are sincere, there is apprehension. Let's think together how to protect ourselves. There are different variants. But till we see what they say one thing but in underlying theme another thing, we observe evident threat of our national security," speaker said.

He stressed that U.S anti-missile defense systems that can be placed in Europe are directed against Russia.

"I call a spade a spade. Defensive potential is only called as defensive. It is the third position region. It is component of U.S offensive nuclear forces. It is direct threat for not only national security of our country but its territorial integrity and existence," Mironov said.
