A special group has been formed to develop Azerbaijan's Military Doctrine.
"Development and adoption of the doctrine is under Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev's control," Deputy Chairman of the Azerbaijani Parliamentary Committee on Security and Defense Aydin Mirzazadeh said on July 7.
The Military Doctrine was expected to be discussed in a spring session of the Azerbaijani parliament, but it was not included in an agenda.
"I think the draft of the doctrine will be developed by an autumn session and we will discuss the paper at the parliament. However, a level of the Azerbaijani army is brought into conformity with standards of the world's leading military forces even before adopting this paper," the parliamentarian said.
