Turkey should demonstrate activity towards events in China: Turkish analyst

Azerbaijan, Baku, Jul.9 / trend News R.Hafizoglu /

The Turkish Government does not demonstrate activity towards events in China as it demonstrated to Gaza events, former MP from Saadet party, analyst Mehmet Bekaroglu said.

Ankara makes official statement, but it is inefficient to prevent the developments, Bekaroglu told Trend in telephone conversation.

As a result of unrests, 156 people died in administrative centre of Sintzyan-Uygur Autonomous Region (SUAR) in Urumchi on July 6. Demonstrators burned cars, removed police blocking and broke buses.

According to the final data of local law-enforcement bodies, 156 people died and 816 injured. Earlier three civil and policeman were reported to die during the clashes. Protestors expressed their concern toward death of two Uygurs during the clashes among workers of toy factory in Kwangtung province.

It is important to stop the violence against Uygurs, Turkish prime-minister Redgeb Tayyib Erdogan said. He was commenting on the conflict between China and SUAR. Protests took place in many provinces and cities of Turkey, while some non-governmental organizations call to boycott Chine's products.

According to Bekaroglu, the protests against the violation of Uygurs' rights in China will change the country's attitude towards this question.

Turkey is a democratic country and the government will take into consideration any protest, Kekaroglu added.

According to Bekaroglu, community influenced the country's policy toward Iraq, Palestine and Afghanistan.
