Azerbaijani opposition party not permitted to conduct piquet

Azerbaijani opposition party was not permitted to conduct piquet near the Chinese embassy in Azerbaijan. 

"In response to our appeal, Baku executive power considered this action as pointless," member of Majlis of Musavat party Gulaga Aslanli told Trend on July 13.

Roughly 156 people died as a result of disorders in Urumchi of administrative center of Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region on July 6. Demonstrators set fire to cars, removed police's barriers and broke buses. According to information of law enforcement agencies, 156 people died but 816 injured. It was reported that three citizens and a policeman died in clashes. People protesting in Urumchi expressed anxiety concerning death of 2 Uygurs during clashes between employees of toy factory in Guandun province. 

Despite denial of Baku executive power's appeal, organization men will gather near the Chinese embassy in Baku on July 14 at 12:00 to protest events in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region of China, Aslanli said.

Musavat party was established in Baku in October 1911. The third (restoration) meeting of Musavat party was held in Republic Palace in Baku on November 7, 1992. As a result of secret voting, Isa Gambar was elected chairman of the party by majority of votes. Isa Gambar was speaker of Milli Majlis (over 1992-1993) and candidate for president during election in 2003. The party was represented in the Parliament by four MPs.
