The Cabinet of Ministers of the Netherlands plans to open the embassy in Baku, Press Secretary of the Dutch Foreign Ministry Aad Meijer told Trend in a telephone conversation from The Hague.
Dutch Foreign Minister Maxime Verhagen offered the open the embassy in Baku.
The embassy will serve aims of the Dutch enterprises and be engaged in energy cooperation.
The Dutch ambassador will closely cooperate with other ambassadors of the European Union (EU) in Baku, as well as embassies in Tbilisi and Ankara. Candidature is under discussions.
The Azerbaijani Embassy in the Netherlands opened in 2007 and Fuad Isgandarov is the current Azerbaijani Ambassador to the Netherlands.
Goods turnover between Azerbaijan and the Netherlands was $17.8 million in January-April 2009.
