Azerbaijani opposition party not gets any proposals to establish broad coalition

Azerbaijani opposition party did not get any proposals on establishment of broad coalition. "So, I do not think that the Azerbaijani People's Front will be restored or National Resistance Movement will be established," MP, chairman of Umid party represented in Movement for Karabakh and Republic, Iqbal Agazadeh, told Trend News on July 23.

Azerbaijani opposition party did not get any proposals on establishment of broad coalition. 

"So, I do not think that the Azerbaijani People's Front will be restored or National Resistance Movement will be established," MP, chairman of Umid party represented in Movement for Karabakh and Republic, Iqbal Agazadeh, told Trend on July 23.

Earlier, head of Musavat party represented in Movement for Karabakh and Republic, Isa Gambar, suggested restoring Azerbaijani People's Front and uniting all opposition forces in this Front. 

Recently, chairman of Azerbaijani Classic People Front represented in the Union for Democracy, Mirmahmud Miralioglu, addressed with proposal on establishment of National Resistance Movement.

People's Front party, the Citizens and Development party, Liberal party, Musavat party, Umid Party, Azerbaijani Democratic Party, as well as several public organizations founded Movement for Karabakh and Republic. 

Union for Democracy was established by opposition parties of Classic People Front, Azadliq and National Democracy after parliamentary elections of 2005. The Great Azerbaijan party joined the Union early September 2008 but People party in November. The Union is agency of cooperation and consultations of these parties.  

Agazade said that if restoration of Azerbaijani People Front and establishment of National Resistance Movement are raised in agenda, these issues will be discussed first in the party. "First, we must determine goals. But there are no official proposals on establishment of any organization up to now," chairman of the party said.  

He said that there is no necessity in establishment of new organization in which members of other parties will be represented as several leading parties of Azerbaijan united in Movement for Karabakh and Republic on the threshold of the referendum on making changes and additions to the Constitution held on March 18. "Rather authoritative parties of Azerbaijan are united in this movement. At present, we hold discussions about joint participation in municipal elections. If our intention is realized, I think that this movement will be able to be the most organized political power of Azerbaijani opposition in future," Agazade said.    

Umid opposition party was established in 1993. Civil Solidarity party joined with Umid party in 2002. Chairman of Civil Solidarity party Iqbal Agazade headed Umid. Agazade is member of the Milli Majlis.
