Georgia, Tbilisi, Jul. 24 / Trend N.Kitzkhalia /
Preliminary information about the European Union (EU) international mission's report to define reasons of the Georgian-Russian conflict, published in the western media contradicts the reality, deputy chair of the mission Uwe Schramm said. He arrived in Tbilisi on July 24.
The reports that the commission will submit final document accusing Georgian President Mikheil Saaakashvili of commencing war, was spread in the western media a month ago. Later, another deputy chair of the mission Heidi Tagliavini disproved this information.
Publication of the report was postponed by two months and it will occur by late September, Schram said.
Recently we have received a lot of materials from Georgia and Russia, so it was necessary to extend terms of commission work, Schramm said.
At present a 15- member group works on this document. The group includes former army generals and experts on Russia and the Caucasus, who are skilled in their field and will submit a competent report, Schramm added.
According to Schramm, report will be impartial and one should not speak partially in favor of others.
Commission studies information presented to international organizations and independent experts along with the official documents, Schram said.
"Our commission cooperates with all sides and I was surprised how all sides unanimously agreed to cooperate with us. We did not face any problem to visit places which we wanted to and I would like to thank them for cooperation, Schram added.
