Number of premeditated crimes increases in Azerbaijani military units: military prosecutor

Number of crimes increased in Azerbaijani military units in the first six months of 2009. These crimes are connected with premeditated murder and violations of authorized interrelations between military men given lack of subordination between them, military prosecutor Khanlar Veliyev said during collegiums' Republican military prosecution on July 24.

Number of crimes increased in Azerbaijani military units in the first six months of 2009. These crimes are connected with premeditated murder and violations of authorized interrelations between military men given lack of subordination between them, military prosecutor Khanlar Veliyev said during collegiums' Republican military prosecution on July 24.   

He said that necessary measures are taken to prevent similar crimes. Military prosecutor said that number of crimes on evading military service, unauthorized leaving military unit and place of service, as well as desertion reduced within reporting period in military forces.

Roughly 98.6 percent of crimes on violation of subordination regulations registered within the first six month were revealed. 

Veliyev said that number of non-military crimes reduced within reporting period.

During investigation military Prosecution agencies provided 95.4 percent of material damage made as a result of crimes, collegium said. 

Military prosecutor gave concrete instructions to conduct investigation, procedural supervision while administrative investigation, payment of material and moral damage made by legal and physical entities, as well as liquidation of errors in other spheres. 

One employee of military prosecution was dismissed from Prosecution agencies within reporting period, five people joined disciplinary responsibility.
