The Kyrgyz Central Election Commission (CEC) has approved a protocol to recognize Kurmanbek Bakiev as the winner in the presidential elections.

The Kyrgyz Central Election Commission (CEC) has approved a protocol to recognize Kurmanbek Bakiev as the winner in the presidential elections, AKIpress reported.

Member of the Kyrgyz CEC Toktogul Sultakeyev said some 2,328,069 voters participated in the elections and this figure comprises 79.13 percent of total number of electorates.

According to the data of the CEC, Bakiev garnered 76.12 percent of votes in the elections.

Other candidates:

Almaz Atambaev - 195,973 (8.41 percent)
Temir Sariev - 157,005 (6.74 percent)
Toktayim Umetaliev - 26,640 (1.14 percent)
Nurlan Motuev - 21,724 (0.93 percent)
Zhenishbek Nazaraliev - 19,283 (0.83 percent)
Against all candidates - 108,553 (4.66 percent).
