In the process of normalizing relations with Armenia Turkey can not ignore the interests of Azerbaijan, said Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan at a press conference in New York following his visit to the United States.
According to the Turkish PM, on his meetings with U.S. President Barack Obama and the president of Russia Dmitry Medvedev, he asked them to influence the acceleration of the work of the OSCE Minsk Group.
"At a meeting with Barack Obama I said that on this issue Turkey can not ignore the interests of friendly Azerbaijan. The U.S. president expressed great importance to this issue and promised to expedite the work of the OSCE Minsk Group", said the Turkish prime-minister.
He said that Turkey wants to have friendly relations with all neighbouring countries, including Armenia, and it's ready to take all necessary steps in this direction.
"But Armenia for its part should take any action" - said Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
