Baku Declaration of Turkic-speaking States Parliamentary Assembly adopted

The Baku Declaration of the Turkic-speaking States Parliamentary Assembly has been adopted in Baku on September 29.

Cooperation within the organization is important means in deepening inter-relations of countries in political, economic, cultural and other spheres, further rapprochement of peoples of the countries participating in the Turkic-speaking States Parliamentary Assembly, the document said.

"Activity of the Turkic-speaking States Parliamentary Assembly is based on use of opportunities presented by common history, language and culture of the states-parties for the further development of our brotherly peoples. The Turkic-speaking States Parliamentary Assembly will give new impetus to the mutually beneficial and equal cooperation of countries of the region.

The Turkic-speaking States Parliamentary Assembly intends to promote further development of political dialogue between states with a qualitatively new level of the inter-parliamentary cooperation - parliamentary diplomacy. It will create favorable political environment to develop and implement various initiatives aiming to turn our region into a zone of security and prosperity, " the declaration said.

The plenary meeting of the Turkic-speaking States Parliamentary Assembly including delegations of the Milli Majlis, the Kazakh Parliament, Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Grand National Assembly of Turkey is being held in Baku on September 29.
