On Sept. 29 in Bucharest, Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev met with the Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies of Romania Roberta Anastase, AzerTAj state news agency reported.
Roberta Anastase said that the bilateral relations between the countries are developing, which are supported by the parliamentary relations. Countries also successfully cooperate within the international organizations.
Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies noted the importance of Azerbaijan President's visit to Romania. She appreciated the activities of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation in Romania, mentioning the need to enhance ties between the two countries in the cultural sphere.
President Ilham Aliyev said that relations between the countries are successfully developing in all spheres. Noting the importance of inter-parliamentary relations, the Head of State said that the cooperation in this regard is thriving. According to President, there is a strong legal framework for the development of bilateral relations. Joint Declaration on establishment of strategic partnership between Romania and Azerbaijan, which was signed yesterday, covers bilateral relations in various spheres, and this document will stimulate the development of relations.
As an indicator of the intensity of development of relations, President Ilham Aliyev noted the activities of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation in Romania.
The Head of State especially highlighted Romania's position in the fair solution of Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
Azerbaijani President also touched upon cooperation between countries in the economic sphere, including energy, noting Romania's support in European integration.
Head of State signed the memory book of the Chamber of Deputies of Romania.
