Embassy of Germany in Azerbaijan today celebrated a national holiday - Day of German Unity - a traditional reception in one of the prestigious hotels in Baku.
"After 40 years we united and our nation has chosen the path of peace," said the Ambassador of Germany to Azerbaijan Per Stanchina, making a speech before the guests in the evening.
The diplomat expressed his satisfaction with the cooperation of Germany with Azerbaijan, noting that the mutual visits and negotiations create good opportunities for the development of bilateral relations.
According to the Ambassador, Germany is interested in further expansion of cooperation with Azerbaijan in all spheres. Azerbaijan and Germany have many common interests in different spheres - culture, economy, tourism, the Ambassador said.
First Vice-Speaker of the Parliament of Azerbaijan Ziyafet Askerov conveyed congratulations of the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev to the people of Germany in connection with the national holiday. The parliamentarian said he was satisfied with the level of development of relations with Germany.
