The President of European's People Party Wilfred Martens expressed a desire to invite Georgian President Mikhail Saakashvili to the World Congress. This was reported during Minister of Corrections and Legal Assistance of Georgia Dimitri Shashkin's visit to the U.S.
During his visit, Shashkin met with Martens on Oct.9, the Ministry reported.
The Minister familiarized Martens with the ongoing democratic reforms in Georgia.
Martens expressed support to Georgia and noted that the ongoing reforms in Georgia are very important for the development of the country.
