Azerbaijani culture week to be held in Doha next year: minister

A week dedicated to the Azerbaijani culture will be held in the Qatari capital of Doha next year, said Culture Minister of Qatar, Hamad Bin Abdul Aziz Al-Kawari.

A week dedicated to the Azerbaijani culture will be held in the Qatari capital of Doha next year, said Culture Minister of Qatar, Hamad Bin Abdul Aziz Al-Kawari.

"The week of the Qatari culture was successfully carried out here [in Baku] last year, and we agreed to hold the Azerbaijani week in 2010," Al-Kawari, head of the Qatari delegation to the 6th  Conference of Culture Ministers of the OIC countries, which was opened in Baku on Oct. 13, told Trend .

The week of the Azerbaijani culture will be held within events dedicated to the election of Doha the capital of Arab culture in 2010, said Al-Kawari.

The visit to Baku is the second and envisages discussion of the Ministry of Culture of Qatar with the Azerbaijani side over the ways to further develop cultural cooperation between the countries, said the Qatari minister.

"We want to share experiences between countries in the field of arts and culture. Azerbaijan has great experience in carrying out activities with regards to art, cinema," said al-Kawari.

In addition to the development of cultural cooperation between the two countries, Azerbaijan and Qatar are continuing discussions on energy cooperation.
