Azerbaijan, Baku, 15 October / Trend , M.Aliyev / The representatives of the Green Party of Azerbaijan will participate in municipal elections this year individually, Chairman of the Green Party of Azerbaijan Mayis Gulaliyev told Trend on Oct. 14.
According Gulaliyev, more than 50 representatives of the party will put forward their candidatures.
Green Party of Azerbaijan intended to participate in the elections in alliance with the Umid Party. At a certain stage of the negotiations, Umid Party stopped contacts with the representatives of "green". "It is all the same, population in the municipal elections will vote not for the party, but for individual candidates. We came to conclusion that participation in the elections on behalf of the party or bloc will not have any meaning," said the party chairman.
Green Party of Azerbaijan was established in December 2006 and has not received official registration. The party has observer status at the European Green Party.
