Kazakhstan has proposed holding a meeting between the five Caspian countries on the rational use, conservation and reproduction of the Caspian's bioresources in Astana in December 2009.

The statement was made at a meeting on the convention of the Caspian Sea's status in Ashgabat today, a source close to the talks in Ashgabat told Trend .

Ashgabat is hosting a working group meeting on the Caspian Sea's legal status. The meeting is attended by deputy foreign ministers of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Russia, Iran and Turkmenistan. Azerbaijani Deputy Foreign Minister Khalaf Khalafov represents Azerbaijan in the event.
