Georgia detained three Russian citizens for violating state borders last night. They were detained in the Georgian-South Ossetian conflict zone in the Nikozi village, Georgian Deputy Foreign Minister Nino Kalandadze said at a briefing today.
"We have the right to detain these people and sue for state border violation, but Georgia displays goodwill and hands them over Russia," Kalandadze underscored.
According to Kalandadze, Aleksandr Popov, Aleksandr Barkov and Maxim Berezin, three Russian citizens, will be handed over to the EU mission at 12:00p.m. to be brought into the occupied territory and transferred to the Russian frontier troops.
