The Turkmen State Service on Drugs chief Aman Garayev was reprimanded for low level of elucidatory propagandistic activity to combat with illegal drug trafficking.
Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhammedow's decree also points to "weakening of control over the implementation of measures against people using drugs illegally".
Turkmenistan borders with Afghanistan, which is a key supplier of drugs to the world markets, mainly to Europe, the international organizations said. After Berdimuhammedow's recent visit to Rome, Italy and Turkmenistan decided to join forces in countering illegal drug trafficking.
